As part of efforts to improve the standard of education, Nigeria and Ghana are to exchange teachers and students Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Musiliu Obanikoro has said.  Obanikoro, who spoke at the 2008 annual Ghana-Nigeria Business Summit with the theme “Promoting Trade and Investment” said the High Commission would soon conclude plans on the programme but did not say when the exchange programme would begin.

He said that Nigeria and Ghana would use the opportunity to understudy each other’s education system and learn from each other any failures and successes in order to improve.

Obanikoro, who expressed satisfaction at the education system of his host country, said that adequate plans were being made to ensure that the exchange impacted positively on Nigeria’s education system adding that the exchange would also facilitate social interaction among the citizens of the two countries.
