Education Trust Fund launches Interactive Learning Network in five states

The ETF and NEPAD Nigeria joint project worth N3.6 billion aims at providing sustainable learning through the appropriate technology platform. The scheme is being flagged off in Kano, Lagos, FCT, Oyo and Enugu states. The Chairman of the ETF, Mrs. Olakurin said that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has been identified as one of the key priority focus areas of NEPAD because it is known to aid faster delivery of education to primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. Dearth of Quality Public School Teachers, a National Problem

  Professor Olawoye Adegboye, a lecturer at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology while speaking at the third graduation ceremony of Oyeleke Memorial College, Offa, decried the decline in the quality of teachers in most of Nigeria’s public schools. The trend he said, if not addressed, will cramp the growth of education in the country. He attributed the problem in part the hapharzard distribution pattern of teachers.
