At the Nursery level, Montessori principles of education are applied as much as possible in areas that complement our National Curriculum. The Montessori principles enable a child to develop fully his/her natural potentials, all the five senses, as well as develop his/her social interaction with others. Therefore the classroom environment is specially designed to meet this need. There is a one to one interaction between teacher and child thereby creating a perfect opportunity for the teacher to observe and respond to the needs of each child, while directing the whole group. The objective is not transmission of knowledge for its own sake, but rather the development of learning skills as a resource which the child will utilize in mastering his environment as well as develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. At the Primary level, the ultimate goal is to ensure success at entrance examinations to both public and private secondary schools. At this stage we try to equip each child with tools that will make them able to face the challenging demands of a rapidly changing world, where only the strong survive. Facilities Available In The School: Sports Library Computer Room Sick Bay Fine Art Room Science Laboratory Highlights The Grove School was established in 1993 with the following specific aims: To provide high standard educational services aimed at success in entrance examinations into secondary schools; To propagate the Montessori principless of education especially at the Nursery level; To equip the pupils with intellectual skills and develop them to their fullest potential; To inspire love for excellence through consistent work aimed at optimum achievement; To encourage a high sense of discipline and good moral values in the minds of the pupils; To develop in the pupils a sense of awareness of their immediate environment and the world at large. A Andrew-Jaja Any other Information: The welfare of our pupils is a priority at The Grove School. To this end, there is a qualified Nurse at the sick bay to attend to the children in cases of emergency. Any problem beyond the Nurse is referred to our school clinic - Queens Clinic, and parents are immediately notified. Also there is an array of extra-curricular activities ranging from gymnastics, football to athletics and che children are given the opportunity to exhibit and develop fully any talent they have in these areas. At the end of every year, children's talents in singing, recitation, cultural dances, talk shows and drama are displayed to entertain Parents. The Annual Yuletide Celebrations is fun for everyone in terms of charity outreach to the less privileged, Carol Singing Evening and a Christmas Party to round it all off.
